Map Out Your Total Solar Eclipse Experience

Not sure where to view the eclipse? NASA has maps and downloads to help you understand where the eclipse will be. And they're totally free!! Just go to the NASA Eclipse Maps Page. This page has so many tools to help  you understand more about the eclipse.

Here's the good new:  The eclipse will be dissecting the United States from west to east. Basically going right across the middle. That means more people will be able to see it.

Here's the bad news: If you are not in the path of totality, you won't experience the darkness during the day. The path of totality is approximately 70 miles wide according to eclipse2017.org And if you are not in the path, it won't be the same at all. The difference will be like night and day. Literally.

So check out the maps on NASA and see if you can plan on being there. It will be worth it. If you missed it check out yesterday's post on three simple things to do to get ready for the eclipse. Or you can visit our t-shirt blog (our main job is to make t-shirts for sale on Amazon) and get some cool tees for the eclipse.

In the meantime, you get check out this fun gear to plan your eclipse experience:

Getting Ready for the Total Solar Eclipse

Are you excited for the eclipse this month? It's only 20 days away. Perhaps its too late to start this blog. But I'm really excited for the eclipse. However, it's getting very close. So I need to get in gear for spectacular event.

I will have small blog posts on what you can reasonably do to get ready for this event over the next few weeks. Martha Stewart I am not and if you are her, you are probably not reading this blog. If you're anything like me you pin things on Pinterest but rarely follow through. I'll also have links on some of the posts to where you can read more or buy things for the eclipse. But for now, preparations are imperative.

So here's your first list of things to do for the eclipse:

  1. Talk to your family about their plans for that day. If you have kids, talk to them about what an eclipse is (if they play Minecraft or Terraria they probably already know). Talk to the kids about safety (never looking at the sun while it's happening). Or if it's just adults in your family, see if they have plans or if there is interest in plans.
  2. Make sure you have time off work for this. Maybe if you can take your lunch hour during the eclipse or if you can take the day off work to go somewhere.
  3. Plan something special. If you have the time and money, go to the middle of the country where the eclipse will actually be total. If you have a small budget, plan a picnic or outing during that event.
Simple right? You may have already done these things for the eclipse. But if not, it's not that hard to do. Also, I will have some links below for some fun eclipse products. If you order now, They'll probably come in time.
